The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 66.76 points, or 0.19 per cent, at the open to 35,325.37.

The Proshares Bitcoin-linked ETF started trading on the stock exchanges with the ticker name of BITO. ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF was trading 3.2 per cent higher at $41.2 on the NYSE.

In the last 10 trading sessions, the Nifty has moved up by 1,000 points. So a bit of a pause, a bit of profit booking, a bit of consolidation is absolutely warranted.

“Calibrated price increases and laser-sharp focus on savings has helped us protect our business model while ensuring the right price-value equation for our consumers,” Sanjiv Mehta, chairman and managing director said.

HUL reported a 11.2 per cent year-on-year growth in revenue from operations to Rs 12,724 crore for the reported quarter, which was in-line with Street’s expectation.

Nifty50 formed a Bearish Belt Hold or a Bearish Engulfing sort of candle on the daily scale and ended the day with a loss of around 60 points after the winning streak of last seven sessions.

Technical indicators such as the 14-day RSI suggest Nifty50 is still in the overbought zone. A consolidation is likely, said analysts, who believe the 18,300 level would be a crucial support for the index.

“There is a long way to go for IRCTC in terms of long-term potential.”

In the Nifty pack, 16 stocks closed in the green, while 34 stocks ended in the red.

Net sales rose 9.63 per cent to Rs 3,864.97 crore as against Rs 3,525.41 crore earlier.
